Course
Objectives:
Based on the discretion of the instructor, the course materials for
each iteration of the course may differ on every occasion the course is
initiated. The primary objective of the course is to gain a thorough
understanding of particular subject matter, acquire scientific research skills,
and learn how to develop a presentation on the chosen topic. The course
material is mainly focused on subjects such as computer graphics, computer
games, color theory, 3D modeling, geometry, physics simulation, and computer
vision. The course is also project-oriented, which facilitates the exploration
of various concepts and tools. Each major topic is accompanied by an
assignment, which enables students to apply solution algorithms and gain
practical experience on the selected topics. The course culminates in a
self-directed final project, which allows students to expand their knowledge on
the software and/or other features of their own choosing. These aforementioned
aspects of the course will provide students with a comprehensive understanding
of the subject matter and prepare them for future endeavors in the field.
Course
outcomes:
Upon finishing this course, the student should be able to:
· To introduce students to the concept of some recently emerged research
for the determined topics of the course.
· Develop an understanding of the selected special topics.
· Effectively address the demands of real-world
problems that require advanced CG techniques.
· Analyze, design and implement effective
solutions applying the knowledge gained from foundational 2D/3D graphics
courses.
· Expand knowledge and skills in area of advanced
topics in CG and be able to derive solutions for complex problems.
· Acquire self-learning skills and learn how to
develop a presentation on a determined topic.
· Provide student with a comprehensive
understanding of the selected subject and prepare him for future endeavors in
the field.
